Simon Byrne's statement
I spend a lot of time travelling for work, normally to non-descript hotels in cities I’d rather not be in. Jet lag is abundant and I haven’t been able to conquer it. Walking with my camera at 3am saves me from the 10 minute loop of CNN. My natural instinct is to think in an orderly manner. On my walks I get drawn to places on the periphery of daily life where man-made, geometric constructs let my mind settle. Car parks, service entrances, hotel corridors and lobbies provide relief whilst searching out the unseen and perhaps sometimes unintentional interactions of the design and structure.
