Yoshiyuki Yatsuda, born in 1972, is a graphic designer and photographer based in Tokyo. He has been as a graphic designer with AXIS, a leading design company in Japan, for six years and is currently working as a member of Surface & Architecture, a design studio that specializes experience design.
He adored the photographs of New Color which graphically cuts out everyday scenes, and started working as a photographer in 2017. His work does not come from the thought such as concepts and messages. It is born from cutting out something that attracts him such as “a place left from the times” and “an unrealistic landscape of the real world”. The graphical scenery cut into the frame directs awareness to the events that would have happened there and to the events that are happening outside the frame.
